If your friend genuinely received money early on, that still does not prove the platform is legitimate. Some fraudulent schemes deliberately pay out small amounts to early participants — using new investors' deposits — precisely to build trust and encourage larger investments. By the time withdrawals are blocked, far more money is at stake.

What to do when a friend introduces an investment

1. Thank them — don't dismiss them. They mean well.
2. Ask for the company's name and registration details.
3. Verify independently with the relevant regulator before doing anything else.
4. Never transfer money under social or emotional pressure.
5. If they cannot provide verifiable details, treat that absence as a red flag in itself.

Investment decisions should be based on facts, not relationships. Protecting your own capital also protects the trust between you and the people who matter to you.
